luce was the final child born to a soon to be single mother, preceded by twin older sisters. with his mother working day and night, he was raised primarily by them. one sister was frustrated with being burdened by luce while she was dealing with her own life. the other cares about him deeply, but filled her life with extracurricular activities as a form of escapism. with her out of reach, luce was stuck around a sister who didn't want anything to do with him in his younger years. his mother was stretched thin by work, and as a result, could fly off the handle at any minor inconvenience around the house.
